Pine Cove operates summer camps across Texas and the Southeast, welcoming thousands of kids each year. Every summer brings a unique operational challenge: scaling from a lean year-round staff to onboarding nearly 3,000 seasonal employees in a single month.

"Payroll is a lot of numbers. But when we pay people, those are people we know — they're friends," says Rob Harris, senior director of accounting and finance. "You want to treat people well and make sure things are right. It's people serving a different calling, and you want to take care of them."

In 2020, Pine Cove went live on Workday with OneSource Virtual (OSV) handling payroll processing. The decision came down to one differentiator: OSV's in-tenant payroll solution eliminates integration complexity and keeps teams lean.

"The fact that OSV is in the tenant was the biggest differentiator for me," Rob says. "Payroll's done and I create a ticket — I don't have to worry about anything else."

But the partnership extends beyond implementation. OSV's payroll experts proactively monitor Pine Cove's account, reaching out when something needs attention — from tax discrepancies to compliance reviews.

"We've had several instances where OSV reached out and said, 'Here's some things we're seeing on your account,'" Rob explains. "They're truly making sure you're doing things right. It's not just, 'If you mess up, that's on you.' Literally, in all my years, it's the first partner I've had like that."
