The SHRM Annual Conference and Exposition grows by leaps and bounds every year. This year was certainly no exception with over 600 exhibitors and 13,000 in attendance. With so many innovators present, there was a deep dive into new ideas and solutions that are driving real change in the HR world. No need to worry if you didn’t have a chance to attend SHRM14, we have you covered.
This year the overall conference theme was transformation. While the industry continues to modernize, many HR leaders are having a hard time adapting. Although HR as a whole is becoming a more strategic part of organizations, directors and their departments haven’t been relieved of time-siphoning administrative functions. As a result, there aren’t many hours left in the day to research the technologies that can improve daily tasks. SHRM provided several days of opportunity for immersion in up-to-the minute software and services that benefit HR professionals in all facets of Human Capital Management.
The Workday Cloud Platform
Businesses are becoming heavily cloud-focused, and HRIS is moving to a SAAS model as well. We talked with many legacy system users during the conference who were frustrated with their current, clunky integrations. They wanted a more streamlined system, and one that offered a complete solution through a single platform. The Workday application answers all of these needs, and impressed users with its ability to adapt as their business requirements evolve. Customers also appreciate Workday’s SaaS technology and its simple incorporation into existing infrastructures.
Getting Back to People
As always, SHRM provided an expository look into every facet of the human resources experience. We especially enjoyed the concentration on technology and its ability to ease stress and free HR departments to focus on a company’s most valuable asset – employees. We spoke with hundreds of HR professionals about the innovative solutions provided by OneSource Virtual, and demonstrated how our services lessens risk while reducing cost and administrative burdens. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth. It was a pleasure to meet and talk with you! Be sure to check out our pictures from SHRM 2014.
