Highlights From Workday Rising Europe

Every year, Workday follows their showstopping U.S. conference with Workday Rising Europe for back-to-back events centered around their powerful HR and finance solution.

This year’s Workday Rising Europe saw approximately 3,200 attendees gather in Milan, Italy, for three days of informative keynotes and sessions, networking opportunities and service partner parties.

Events got off to an entertaining start Tuesday, Nov. 12, with a performance by the legendary English comedian Michael McIntyre during the Welcome Keynote. Following his performance, attendees and service partners were treated to an opening reception on the expo floor.

The next morning, on Wednesday, Nov. 13, Workday Co-Founder and CEO Aneel Bhusri joined Workday Co-President Chano Fernandez for the Innovation Keynote. Like the Innovation Keynote in the U.S., this one focused on how Workday is evolving to maintain the quality of their services to customers.

As part of this, Bhusri announced that Workday will acquire Scout, a Workday software partner and a leading platform for strategic sourcing and supplier engagement. To learn more about what else happened during the Innovation Keynote, a recap is available on Workday’s website.

Workday Rising Europe

Wednesday was not only a big day for Workday, but also for the service partners in attendance, OneSource Virtual in particular.

That morning, we held our biggest European session to date. Entitled, “Tailoring Payroll to Fit Your Needs: What Customers Are Saying About Workday Payroll and a Tiered Services Provider,” we talked to leaders from the British Heart Foundation, New Balance and Groupon about the value that tiered payroll services have brought to their companies. A recording of our session will be made available soon, and we look forward to sharing it with you.

Wednesday night we held our customer appreciation party, entitled Bespoke, at the exclusive 55 Milano. Over the course of the night, we saw more than 700 people—or nearly 25% of conference attendees—join us for delicious food and drinks, a live DJ and a fashion show befitting a party in the fashion capital of the world.

Events concluded on Thursday, Nov. 14, with the announcement that next year’s European conference will be in Copenhagen, Denmark, from Nov. 10 – 12. We’re looking forward to another great conference and are already thinking about how we can match this year’s terrific successes. We hope to see you there!
