Culture in Action - OSV Employee Profile: Leana Lien

As many professionals have discovered, when you do one thing long enough, you may find that you’re hungry for a new challenge. That’s exactly where Leana Lien was before joining OneSource Virtual.

“I had been a recruiter for about 10 or 12 years, so I was at that point where I really wanted something new,” she says.

At the time, she was helping an oil and gas company deploy Workday, but she had previously worked in the healthcare industry.

One day, she mentioned her deployment project to a friend who worked for OneSource Virtual, and her friend told her about OSV.

Based on her friend’s enthusiasm, she decided to apply for a position.

“It felt like a really good match,” Leana says, recalling how she felt after her interview.

Leana joined OneSource Virtual in December 2016, and she’s currently an associate consultant for one of OSV’s deployment teams.

“Right now, I’m helping a lot with data conversion, and with configuration on the HCM and compensation side.” She also uses her own experience on the customer side of Workday to help OSV’s customers understand the best practices around it, so they can maximize their investment going forward.

“It’s a very unique system,” she says. And now that she’s able to do more on the deployment side, Leana has a greater understanding for how everything in Workday all flows together for customers.

As a result, she says that “OSV has definitely provided me with the challenge I was looking for.” She’s also discovered what a lot of her colleagues have over the years—that OSV is driven by a strong commitment to teamwork.

“Ever since I joined OSV, I’ve frequently been asked, ‘How can I help you? What can I teach you?’”

She adds: “At other places, you’re in one group, and that’s the group you focus on. At OSV, you can be a true team member to a lot of different groups.”

Originally from Wisconsin, Leana attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee on a full scholarship. After college, she lived in Chicago for a while, but Dallas has been her home for the past 11 years.

When she’s not working, Leana enjoys traveling and reading. She also loves spending time with her husband and their poodle, Poumah. “I just love hanging out with them and enjoying the calmer things of life.”
